This print by Indigenous artist Mark Nadjiwan come matted and measures 11" x 14".
Moonlight Forager II is a reprise of a similar piece that the artist did over 30 years ago. Now long lost, that early drawing has remained a favourite and one that Mark has always wanted to artistically revisit in his now much more developed style and technique. Waagosh, as Fox is known to the Anishinabek People, continues to have a special significance in Mark’s life as he is frequently visited by Waagosh -- more than any other forest dweller – during his travels whether travelling on foot, by paddle or by road. But there is an even more sacred and special presence of this keen, swift and adaptable animal in Mark’s life by way of his son whose Anishnabek name is Waagoshonse, “Little Fox.” This piece is dedicated to him.
