Collection: Trish McLaughlin
Trish Mclaughlin is a self-taught Ojibwe jewelry artist and photographer from Minesing, Ontario, who now calls Toronto home. When she first arrived in Toronto, she managed a few jewelry stores, expanding her knowledge and passion for jewelry making. At the age of 29 she graduated from George Brown College with a Business Administration-Accounting Diploma and worked in the financial industry. During this time, she encountered some personal setbacks, which pushed her to use her knowledge and passion for jewelry and turn it into a business.
Ever since Trish can remember, she has had a passion for creating and wearing jewelry. The name Miikana (pronounced Me-Kan-a) translates to a road or a trail in Ojibwe. She believes it is a fitting name because we all take many different paths in life, and she wants to create items that will make people happy on theirs!
